Ventilation is an engineering system that is responsible for the proper air exchange in a room.

Basically, the centralized ventilation system is represented by supply-and-exhaust installation. Air handling unit with heat recovery consists of:

  • bypass;
  • recuperator;
  • engine;
  • enclosures;
  • calorifier, etc.

When choosing a ventilation system, it is highly important to pay attention to the heat exchanger. Recuperators can be rotary and lamellar. Each of them has its own efficiency and the percentage of heat recovery, which depends on such factors:

  • the temperature of the air taken from the room;
  • humidity level;
  • outdoor temperature.

Example. Let’s suppose that the air temperature outside in the springtime is +16 degrees centigrade, with the very active sun’s rays. The sensors on the heat exchanger register that the temperature outside is lower than in the room. Consequently, a bypass turns on, it directs the air from the room past the heat exchanger, and the cold air directly flows into the room. This process is highly important from the point of view of energy efficiency, in order not to turn on the air conditioning in spring period. This principle of operation is relevant during the night in summer, when the temperature indicators of the air outside decrease.

The «heart» of the air handling units is the engine. All high quality ventilation units are equipped with DC motors. One of its advantages is considered to be low energy consumption in comparison with an AC motor. These engines are economical, efficient and silent. The F7 filter is responsible for the fine purification of the intake air and stops particles with a diameter of more than 1 micron.
